Homestead Bible Camp Standard of Appropriateness:
Through the following may not reflect everyone’s personal standard (nor can it), Homestead Bible Camp has sought to establish a minimal standard of appropriateness for all of its staff and campers that will reflect and promote the goals and purposes of our Lord for His camp ministry.
Let us maintain appropriate dress and behavior at all times during camp. Our dress and behavior should, in no way, take away from the focus of why we are here.
Why are we here?
To turn the minds and hearts of young souls to Christ.
- To see them come to know Jesus as their savior (Jn 10:9)
- To see them grow in their commitment to follow Him only. (Matt 16:24-25)
Appropriate Behavior:
(1 Thes 5:22, Prov 5:21)
- No low cut tops
- No muscle shirts, halter tops or spaghetti straps
- No midriffs or shirts that show the belly when arms are raised
- Shorts that are long enough (hand length is a good measurement)
- No underwear should be showing at any time (no see thru stuff)
- No underwear or feminine hygiene products left out in the bathroom
- Leave all such personal items in the cabin
- No pajamas worn outside of cabins (modest pjs can be worn only to the bathroom)
- No 2 piece bathing suits unless covered w/o colored T-Shirts
- No speedos or tight shorts
- No clothing with offensive advertising or statements
- No tank tops
Appropriate Behavior:

- Respect authority, staff members, campers and guests on the property
Sexual conduct:
- No hanging on one another (staff or camper)
- No sitting on laps
- No backrubs
- No inappropriate touching
- No holding hands
- No going off alone
- No kissing
- No dating at camp
- No one-on-one with the opposite sex
Appropriate Languages:
(Col 3:8, Proverbs 10:31-31, Proverbs 12:18)
- No swearing (avoid anything that sounds like it)
- Don’t put others down with your language (even in jest)
- Be encouraging and uplifting
- Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth
